See This Film?: HELL NO!

I went into this film thinking it was going to be good. It looked promising…but it wasent…it was fucking stupid. and i put the “fucking” there to emphasis just how stupid it was. Before i get to the main reason why it was so stupid. let me just say, Channing Tatum always disappoints me. and i dont think its his fault. He is an up and coming young actor and he reminds me of a young Tom Cruise, but if he does not a film with a good script and a proper director so he can show his true talent, He’s going to loose out. I don’t think its that he’s not choosing his roles wisely, i think its that he isent getting the right opportunities.
In this film you can see he is able to act, he portrays anger appropriately like a great actor would and delivers his lines well and all that jazz. Its just….these films as a whole just suck. The horrible film making ruins his acting job.

Let me get to the main reason why this film is stupid as fuck. Any MMA or fighting fan will know what im talking about. Basically this film is promoting murder. They have this whole vibe they try to play off in the movie where hes some semi- homeless guy just trying to make money and hey! what a coincidence! He was fight really well! so he meets some black guy played by terrence howard and he signs him up for some underground fights to make money. now people watch these fights, theres a crowed, but its not in a ring, its more like a street fight but indoors or in a special chosen designation and there trained in MMA and stuff and they get a shit load of cash when they win. so its a organization….

Now…theres a total of about 5 fights in the film…and after every single fight Channing ends up winning (obviously) but he always manages to end up beating them in a devastating way. like the guy smashed his head off a pole…or the guy gets pile drived threw a fucking window….okay thats cool….but when that happens and he wins… hes just shown standing there and everyones looking on in shock and the dude on the floor is FUCKED UP! LIKE HE NEEDS HELP…but then everyone just goes all buck and the scene progresses and u can at one time literately just see the fucked up man just laying there in the background as hes having a fucking convo with the guy on how they just won and got so much loot…..

what the fuck? is someone gonna help this dude? his borderline dead….people literately just walk away and its just so awkwardly done… like they play off in the movie like these placees are “organized and safe” so where the fuck is the ref? why the fuck would people bet 50 grand on a street fight when u can do it in a MMA match…. This stupid fucking shit ruined the movie for me alone…it pissed me the fuck off….and it happened literately 5 times… You really have to just see it to get what i’m saying. So if you wanna see it….just see it to see the stupid fucking dumb ass way they do that. and get pissed, then turn it off….because the rest of the movie sucks anyways.

See this film?: Yes…But be high as a kite.

This is Tim Burtons 7th collaboration with Johnny Depp. I will start by saying i had high hopes for this film since i believe Tim Burton is an imaginative director and Johnny Depp is a terrific actor. Having said that those two aspects i just listed are the only saving grace’s to this film.

Tim Burtons imaginative world that he created is intererlly from scratch as the film was filmed behind green screen. The effects were very well done and it did do a good job of bringing you into the world that is wonderland. But also i do think that some things were a little too “special effects-y” meaning that when looking at the character of surrounding you were kind of distracted at the fact that it looked way to CG generated.

Johnny Depp’s performance was without a doubt what made this movie bankable. Depp portrayed madd hatter in his own perfect unique way, his emotions were very present and up front and all you had to do is look at him and you could tell what he was feeling. He made me laugh, he made me concerned. His character was magnificent. I do believe that without Johnny Depp this movie would be missing a big chunk of something.

Overall the film wasent bad, and it wasent good. I had mix feelings about it. What i can say is that i was expecting something more out of it. i don’t know exactly what, but i wanted something more. the story was very straight forward and generic and i felt just when we were introduced to a new character we were on to something else. For how incredible these characters were, i was interested to see more about them, especially that flying cat. Same goes for Mad Hatter, i believe right from his first words you could tell Johnny was doing something amazing with this character, and i believe they could of ran with that much more then what they did.

Just a T.O.F
