Last song heard: (none) Last Food Eaten: Tuna sandwich See This Movie?: Yea, the trailer looks very good.
Hey guys, here is the new trailer that got released yesterday for the upcoming “predators” movie directed by Robert Rodriguez (Grindhouse: Planet Terror, Once upon a time in mexico) and starring Adrian Brody and Lawrence Fishbourne. What i like about this trailer is the film looks well casted and well-made. Although it is the 4th or 5th film in the predators franchise, Robert has stated in a recent interview that he made this film as a stand alone project. Meaning, he diden’t go into it trying to make it relate to the others, so in fact this film is sort of a re-make of the original, and to me personally it looks really good.
I love the way the trailer begins, with the dialogue and the stars transforming into trees.
Last Song Heard: (Gooder – Young Money) Last Food Eaten: Shrimp See This Film?: Yes, but for fans of artistic film
The Road is a film not for the weak. There isen’t a hint of humor or happiness in this film, and that is what i expected. The Road is about a man (Viggo Mortenson) and his son trying to survive a post apocalyptic world. Sure…you’ve heard that concept before right? think again. The post apocalyptic world that director John Hillcoat displays in this film is the closest depiction i’ve ever seen to what it would truly be like. As they travel, house after house food is gone. the skies are constantly grey, everything that would be living as nature is dead, and to top it off it is likely that if you run into someone along your journey, they will be cannibals. This movie portrays the feeling of “im all i have left” like none other.
Many times in the film when they think theres no more hope, Viggo would point a gun at his sons head to pull the trigger, killing his son, then himself. This film reeks with the smell of hopelessness. But the very last scene you get a glimpse of hope and that little warm feeling that humanity is still in peoples hearts.
One very disturbing scene is when Viggo and his son stumble across a house, they reach the basement and find a locked room with 10 or so dying people being kept for food for the family living in that house. These people see Viggo and his son and jump at them asking for help, they are to weak to move. This scene alone gave me goosebumps and showed in a simple scene the scale of the world they are living in and what has become of it. People surviving off cannibalism.
Overall this film is not for the weak as it will mentally mess with you. If you are up for the challenge then i suggest you do watch this film. If you are also expecting alot of action and big explosions i suspect you look elsewhere. This film takes you on a mental journey and if you like films that depict what things could be like, or if you like films about the struggle for survival then this is for you.
Here is the trailer. Enjoy.
Last song heard: (none) Last Food Eaten: Chicken Salad See This Film?: If theres nothing else.
What can i say….this film was “crazy”
If your going into a movie looking for a true genuine horror flick you will not find it here. What you will find here is a horror/thriller. This films so called “scary” scenes only consist of blood and gore, which in turn does not cause the feeling of horror in ones self, it causes the feeling of seeing something grotesque….there’s a difference.
This movie is about a small local town. Where one day all the residence slowly start going crazy. Without a good director and a decent budget to back this movie, it easily could of went straight to dvd as a B-list film. But thankfully its production was its saving grace. We follow a young sheriff and his family threw this horrible ordeal. Half way into the film the story takes a turn where the military gets involved and now everyones an enemy. There was only one scene that I can recall that actually gave me that creepy feeling inside, and it is shown at the “1:59 to 2:02″ mark on the trailer below.
Overall this film starts off promising with a solid opening scene, but the rest of it kind of falls flat. If you have seen the trailer you most likely have gotten the gist of the film. This film tries its best to have deep moral feelings behind it like 28 Days Later did, but it falls short as just another sub-par horror flick.
Last Song Heard: None Yet Last Food Eaten: Protein Shake See This Film? Yes, looks very promising
Every single time I view this trailer, it gets me pumped to see it. Out of all the films coming out this summer like Iron Man 2, The A-Team and The Expendables, This film is definitely my most anticipated. The sheer mystery of this trailer and incredibly original story makes it the top runner. What I love about it is that this trailer does not show much, it simply shows the scope and depth this film will have along with a genius concept.
“Your mind is the scene of the crime” That tag alone makes a person wonder.
Towards the end of the trailer you can hear Ellen Page yelling “wake me up! wake me up!” that alone makes me know this movie will be something mind blowing. How can someone yell wake me up if there sleeping.
By master filmmaker Christopher Nolan (Memento, The Dark Knight) and A-list actor Leo Dicaprio, this duo will be sure to deliver . Christopher Nolan is quoted in an interview as saying production on this film is more broad and complex then his “The Dark Knight” and we all know how amazing that film was. So heres the trailer. enjoy.
Last Song Heard: (Birdman Jr – Lil Wayne) Last Food Eaten: Chicken See This Film?: YES! YES! YES!
This Film is the directorial debut by Duncan Jones, and wow its something else. This is probably the best true phycological thriller ive seen since phone booth. This film is a hidden gem. It wasent big budgeted, but it takes place on the moon. The concept is, in the distant future we harvest material from the moon and this man named Sam, played wonderfully by Sam Rockwell (very underrated actor) is on a three year contract to stay in a facility made by NASA to basiclly keep track of everything that is going on. He is accompanied by a super intellectual robot called “Gerty” voiced by Kevin Spacy.
The film picks up at a point where Sam has 2 weeks left in his 3 year contract….only he is starting to go a little insane…it is soon present that awkward things are appearing and he is starting to question his sanity.
This film literately kept me guessing right till the very end. It is put together so incredibly smart and direct. you will be curious throughout the whole film. This film plays with your head like no other, it gives you possible answers that seem plausible to what is happening, but you STILL question it just because of the brilliant eerie way duncan decides to reveal and progress his story. I guarantee you that by the 30 minute mark you will be sitting there thinking “wow…what is happening right now” and i mean that in a totally amazing way…and i want you to understand, you will not be thinking that for the reason that the whole film consists of weird occurrences till the final conclusion…you will be thinking that because of the unexpected and insanely original turn in the story, and where it is at at that moment. As the movie began to reach its final conclusion, the realization left me with shivers and my main thought was “wow, these things could truly be a reality in our future, or even right now” This movie leaves you with a bunch of different feelings. And thats how movies should be.
This movie is a must see for anyone who is looking to sit down, watch a movie, and have there minds tested. This is a film you have to dedicate yourself to mentally. Do not be distracted and do embrass yourself in the story. It should be a crime that this film is underrated.
